Keeping heavy equipment running smoothly around Newport starts with reliable hydraulics. When a hydraulic cylinder leaks, loses pressure, or fails altogether, your work can grind to a halt—whether you are moving material at a quarry, feeding livestock on a local farm, or lifting loads on a construction site. A dedicated hydraulic and cylinder repair team helps by quickly diagnosing the issue, machining or re-rodding worn components, resealing cylinders, and pressure-testing everything before it goes back in service. Instead of waiting on costly factory replacements, you can often rebuild what you already own, extending equipment life and cutting downtime. Fast turnaround, quality seals and components, and clean assembly practices mean your loaders, excavators, presses, and farm equipment are back to work on schedule.
History of Newport, PA
Newport is a small borough in eastern Perry County, nestled along the Juniata River northwest of Harrisburg. Settlers first arrived in the 1760s, taking advantage of the river as a transportation route and natural resource. The community began as Ryder’s (or Reider’s) Ferry, named for the Reider family who operated an early ferry crossing on the Juniata and laid out the town’s first streets and building lots. The arrival of the Juniata Division of the Pennsylvania Canal in 1829 transformed the settlement into a transportation hub for grain and other goods, and the town was officially renamed Newport as canal traffic grew. Later, the Pennsylvania Railroad reached the borough in 1849, further accelerating growth with warehouses, hotels, tanneries, and mills clustered near the water and tracks. Newport was incorporated as a borough in 1840 and today has a population of around 1,500 residents. Much of downtown is recognized as the Newport Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places for its 19th-century homes, commercial buildings, and bridges. For more on local government and community information, see the official Newport Borough site or the town’s Wikipedia page.
